I am really glad you’ve accepted my interview. Thank you so much for taking the time to answer my questions.
Thank you so much for having me on your blog!

Can you tell us a bit more about how you became a writer?
About nine years ago, I lost my 9-5 job during the U.S. economic recession. Instead of looking for a new job, I decided to write a book. After three attempts (I wrote constantly for almost a year), I queried a book to literary agents. I recieved an offer for representation, and my agent sold my first book to a major U.S. publisher. Ten books later, I’m still writing!

Was it difficult for the first book to find a publisher?
No, not difficult. The offers came quickly. I think my agent sold my first book in about 6 weeks, and I received offers from multiple publishing houses. This is unusual, though. It usually takes longer—sometimes a year or two. I was a little bit lucky, I suppose.

Could you describe literature in three words?
Emotional. Addictive. Comforting.

Is there a book you would never read? Why?
I like to read lots of different genres, so I don’t think so? Except maybe a book written by Donald Trump. I have no interest in hearing anything he has to say.

What’s your favorite book?
How about three of my favorites? (It’s hard to pick one!) 1. HOWL’S MOVING CASTLE (by Diana Wynn Jones). 2. OUTLANDER (by Diana Gabaldon). 3. HIS DARK MATERIALS series (by Philip Pullman).

Favorite quote?
We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars. (Oscar Wilde)

EBooks or paper print?
Both. But mostly paper.

What inspires you?
Film. Art. Music. Current events. Anything, really.

Imagine you were given the opportunity to meet a book character in real life. Who would that be?
Luna Lovegood from Harry Potter. I think we’d get along well!

What’s your worst nightmare?
Not being able to write. Or not being able to make enough money from writing full-time.

The best decision of your life was?
Probably writing that first book instead of looking for a 9-5 job.

I can’t wait to read your next book. Are you currently working on a project? Is there any release date to reveal?
My next book is SERIOUS MOONLIGHT, and it will be published Spring of 2019. In Autumn of 2019, I will have an additonal book being published: I can’t reveal the title yet, but it is a historical teen adventure that takes place in 1930s Romania, in which a 17-year-old daughter of a wealthy treasure hunter travels through Romania with an 18-year-old boy in search of a cursed ring that once belonged to Vlad the Impaler. I’m very excited about that one! Lastly, in 2020, my 5th YA contemporary romance will be published, which I am about to start writing next week!
