I am really glad you’ve accepted my interview. Thank you so much for taking the time to answer my questions.
Can you tell us a bit more about how you became a writer?
I’ve always been a good storyteller. But the actual writing didn’t come easy. Actually I could hardly spell when I begun writing screenplays. Luckily spelling a thing you can learn. After twenty years of screenwriting I decided to try and write a novel, which eventually became Victim Without A Face. It took me four years, but work wise it was at that time it was one big joy to write own colourful prose instead of short screenwriting sentences.
Was it difficult for the first book to find a publisher?
I started out a bit differently by looking for an agent instead. It took me a while before I found one, but after that everything kind of exploded. So I guess the answer is no.
Could you describe literature in three words?
Mind-blowing, emotions and traveling.
Is there a book you would never read? Why?
No, not according to a specific genre or type of book. I try to read as many different things I possibly can. On the other hand there are so much bad writing and storytelling out there that I try to keep away from. My life is too short.
What’s your favorite book?
Oh, there are so many! I love Philip K Dick. He had mind blowing ideas in almost every novel he wrote. Man In The High Castle is one of his best, I would say.
„It doesn’t matter where you dig. As long as you reach deep enough it will eventually start to smell.”
From Motive X, my latest Risk-novel. Haha!
EBooks or paper print?
What inspires you?
Life, art, music, my kids, friends, news.
Imagine you were given the opportunity to meet a book character in real life. Who would that be?
Lisbeth Salander or Pippi Longstocking.
Actually Stieg Larsson based Salander on the Astrid Lindgren character. They’re both extra ordinary cool, intelligent and skilled. Problem is that I don’t think they would be the least interested in meeting me.
What’s your worst nightmare?
The something happened with my kids. Always the kids.
The best decision of your life was?
To take the chance. I’ve done that in all my life, and I’ve never regret it.
I can’t wait to read your next book. Are you currently working on a project? Is there any release date to reveal?
The fourth Motive X is just released in Scandinavia, but when it will be out in Luxembourg I don’t know for sure at the moment.
